Hi and welcome to my castle! I'm a 40-something gal located in the Midwest--though I've grown up all over the U.S. I've been married to my hubby since 2002 and we have five kids (one has already left the kingdom and has a family of his own).

Currently, our household ranges from teenager to early elementary. It's an....animated house to say the least! (That's polite talk for 'it's really LOUD in here')

Why am I blogging?

I never had an interest in blogging until about five years ago when I realized I actually liked to help people, but didn't always have the means to do so in person. So what can I help with? Glad you asked, basically any and all wisdom I've gathered from years of making mistakes. Mistakes in marriage, mistakes in parenting, mistakes in homeschooling. Fortunately, my poor judgment is an excellent teacher! So if I can keep one person from making some of the needless errors I've made in those areas all the better.

Think of me as that friend who comes over for coffee frazzled at the latest misadventure she's landed in, but has come away with what she's learned and shares it with you. A kind of "here's the moral to the story" type of thing.

Now that's not to say my entire life has been an unmitigated disaster, some of the wisdom I've garnered comes from watching OTHERS make mistakes. Also a fabulous teacher! I'm here to share that as well. I'm a giver like that!

So grab a cup of coffee or your preferred hot beverage and sit down at my table to take a peek inside our castle. It's not big, but it's home.
